Chakrasamvara Center (CSC) began in 2004 after Mai Pham sponsored and organized “World Peace Through Inner Peace,” an event for His Holiness The Dalai Lama in Miami. Over the last decade, CSC has grown into a bustling spiritual center on Miami Beach that maintains a daily meditation schedule, organizes special events for the community at large, and hosts esteemed spiritual teachers.

Wheel of Bliss is a poetic translation of the Sanskrit Chakrasamvara (चक्रसंवर तन्त्र, Tibetan: འཁོར་ལོ་བདེ་མཆོག, English (literal): Chakra “circle” or “wheel”; Samvara “union” or “collected together”). In 2012, we initially acquired the land in Hot Springs, North Carolina to serve as a retreat space for our practitioners; however, after seeing the beneficial impact of interfaith events in our own city, we felt the need to open the retreat space in the Blue Ridge mountains to other spiritual traditions and the community at large.

Although our own tradition is Tibetan Buddhism, we strongly believe in the concept of interfaith fellowship between different traditions. Following the example of His Holiness The Dalai Lama, we have worked in fellowship with churches, synagogues, mosques, Hindu temples, and practitioners from a variety of yogic, qi gong, and Reiki Traditions. Spiritual growth increases in a tangible way when we step outside of our own cocoons and collaborate with others. Through fellowship and dialogue, may we take a step closer towards a more enlightened society for the benefit of all.

Giving Back

In creating a sacred space for retreatants, we believe that it is also our duty to be stewards of our 63 acres of land. In 2017, we have begun implementing programs that will increase the health and vitality of the forests, waterways, and wildlife on our land. Currently our land qualifies as a certified Wildlife Habitat under The National Wildlife Federation. Additionally, our staff is working with local, state, and federal conversation programs as well as private consultants to create sanctuaries for endangered species, protect our forests from man made and natural disasters, and transition to 100% renewable, off-grid energy sources.
